Elo (EVAN LEIYAN OLE MAPELU) is a founding member of Henzo Kenya and the Current Chairman of its Board of Directors.

Henzo Kenya is a Community Based Organization that brings together Leukemia and Gastro-intestinal stromal tumors (GIST) patients for public awareness, mutual support and advocacy.

Elo also sits at the Board of Directors of Kenyan Network of Cancer Organizations (KENCO), and has been Chairman since August 2022. KENCO is the National umbrella body of cancer NGOs, patient groups and community-based organizations that are active in different aspects of cancer control. Including; Awareness creation, Research, Advocacy, Capacity Building and Partnerships.

He is a graduate of Public policy and administration from Kenyatta University and also has a diploma in Pharmacy. He has over 20 years’ experience working with patient support groups and in primary health care in Kenya
